Well, last evening was rough for us. The tumor response to the chemo wasn't as good as they had hoped for.

Although this is not a death sentence it leads to a poorer prognosis than we had been given before if nothing is changed in his chemo regimen.

So Ethan will have some additional chemo drugs and his treatments will extend at least two months longer, taking us into November if there are no setbacks.

Really hard to know how effective the additional drugs will be because the research data isn't in on those...Not enough in the sample size to draw conclusions.

There is good anecdotal evidence, so that's where I am choosing to dwell. I'm sure you all know that we just need prayer for peace and a good outcome...It will just be hard to tell how everything  is going after this point, so we just have to trust...Thanks for your prayers.

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to thank you so much for the ongoing prayers for Ethan.  He is recovering beautifully...hard to believe it's over 3 weeks since his surgery!

He had all of his staples taken out and started a little bit of physical therapy this week...just to remind his quad muscle how to function!  He can only bend his knee up to 30 degrees in PT and it takes enormous effort for him to straighten it from that angle, but that is what they're working on for now.

Please pray for his next round of chemo admission, which will be at Hershey this Wednesday.  He will probably be in until Saturday, April 21st.

Pray that he isn't too sick the first 48 hours and also I'd appreciate ongoing prayers for his ability to concentrate on schoolwork.  He's keeping up but it is really hard for him to concentrate and so everything takes a long time.

He will have to continue with math all summer so I'd love it if you could start praying for that now!  It'll be hard when he knows his friends aren't taking any classes. :) But that's such a small thing to worry about...so I guess you can also pray that I can keep everything in perspective!

Thank you for all of your prayers and encouragement...Have I mentioned we have we have the best friends and church and co-op ever???  :)

Ethan is better every day!

They are gradually lowering his pain meds.. but he still has to keep his leg elevated most of the day.  He is much more independent, though, and feeling quite well!

Praise God for that!!

Appointments this week will help determine when he restarts chemo...probably next week.
Please pray that he can focus a bit better on schoolwork so he can get caught up sooner.  It's hard for him to make that a priority.
